The William S. Hart Museum, a satellite of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, offers FREE guided tours year round and special events such as Music in the Mansion concerts and A Day at the Ranch. For more information on tours and special events, please contact: 661.254.4584

The Santa Clarita Historical Society runs Flickers at the Junction, the Halloween Haunt, lectures on Santa Clarita Valley history and much more. For more information call: 661.254.1275.

William S. Hart Regional Park

William S. Hart, also known as “Two Gun Bill”, was the first cowboy movie star during the silent film era. He made almost 70 silent movies from 1914

to 1925, and donated his sprawling ranch for the public to enjoy. The park features Hart’s home which is now a museum filled with his personal

effects and movie paraphernalia, along with Native American artifacts and Western American art.

Park Features

    • Barnyard Zoo- Featuring 70 birds and animals,

    • such as wild boar, a herd of American Bison

    • (Buffalo), deer, goats, rabbits and sheep.

    • Hart Residence/Museum and

    • Historic Ranch.

    • Hiking and equestrian trails.

    • Group camping and group picnics.

    • Hart Hall- A large facility for meetings, parties

    • Weddings/receptions, community gatherings.

    • Bunk House- A great place for scout meetings

    • and receptions and special events.

Heritage Junction Historic Park

    • Heritage Junction, home to 19th century

    Saugus Railroad Station and many historical

    buildings from old Newhall is also located in

    Hart Park. Tours of the train station are given

    by the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society.

    Hours: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturdays and

    Sundays.

    • 1900 Mogul Engine #1629, a class M4 train,

    weighing 75 tons.

    • Six other historic building have been moved to

    Heritage Junction. From the six pew 1927

    Ramona Chapel to the 1860 Mitchell House

    Adobe. All in various stages of restoration.
